Can I send you fabric to make a custom dress similar to your designs?

Answer
Yes you can. You can send me you choice of fabric if you live in South Africa to this address:

You can choose a preferred courier as I would suggest using Fastway couriers or PEP PAXI around South Africa as they are cheaper and faster than any couriers I have used previously.
But if you live outside South Africa I highly recommend that you use The Courier Guy as they ship internationally and they are also local to South Africa.

Before you send the fabric contact me via WhatsApp on: +27 (0)64 108 3436 to discuss the design and the meters of fabric you will need to purchase and if the kind of fabric you have would actually be suited for making my designs or not.

The client is fully responsible for shipping rates in this case with no refunds once payment is made and the design made.
Question
What if I want you to make a new design from scratch with my own fabric?
Answer
The is absolutely no problem, as mentioned above reach out to me via WhatsApp to discuss the design and fabric.
Note:

You will be charge an additional fee of R150 because that is a custom design that you request which requires a new pattern to be drafted from scratch.

Please do not submit other peoples work for me to copy. I design garments from scratch, and I do not want to be sued for copyright infringement.

If you would like to submit pictures only for inspiration and add your own personal touch, then there is no problem.
Question
What if I want you to source different fabric for me?
Answer
No problem. If you want me to make the designs I have on my website for in different fabric. Reach out to me via WhatsApp to discuss what kind of fabric you would like and if it would work for the design.
And if you want your own design a R80 fee will be added to your custom design price.
Question
What if I want to make alterations to your original designs?
Answer
No problem, note you will have to pay an additional fee R50 for anything you would like to add or alter to the design and it can only be the following :

Change of appliqués

Note:
Modest Raiment only caters for maxi length and midi length anything shorter than that I do not class as modesty.
Question
How long will it take for me to receive my item?
Answer
Modest Raiment is a careful garment creating, slow, conscious, fashion company run on a made to order basis and all items are custom handmade to order (unless otherwise stated) you can expect the time from beginning the process of making the garment to delivery time to take 3- 4 weeks (28 -30 working days) this may vary depending on the design of the ordered garment.
Note:
For gowns and wedding dresses 3-8 months + and above ordering and processing time and delivery time is required so please make sure to directly contact me earlier for further enquiries as I do not take rushed/hurried/urgent orders, or short notice orders, making clothing requires time and patience if you are looking for perfect results.

Do you have ready to wear that I can order for sooner arrival?
Answer
No, everything you see displayed on Modest Raiment's website is a handmade to order, and we are a slow fashion, careful garment making company so we only make the items once the order has been confirmed and payed for unless an item states otherwise.

What if I don't have money to pay the full cash price for the garment I want?
Answer
No problem. You can pay in two month installments. 60% upfront for us to start making the garment and 40% later for us to deliver the garment to you.

How does the ordering process go?
Answer
You can refer to my Process page (link 👉 ) for clarification.
Here is a summary:

Order your garment via our online order form by filling in your details name, address, size or custom fit, e-mail, WhatsApp number.

If you have alterations additions or notes you would like to add about the design you can add them there.

You can also submit design inspiration pictures from your alterations to the design, even if you would like a design especially made for you.

Choose the courier you would like to use, prices will be stated

Choose the payment method you would like to use full cash or two month instalment plan

We will send you the invoice as to what we are charging you including the shipping fee.

You will pay according to the what is reflected on the invoice, either in offline payment our bank details are here below:

For offline payments we require a proof of payment from FNB, the bank we have chosen to be scanned and e-mail to us at:

If you choose two month installments then you will pay 60% of the total price, once the garment is ready to be shipped to you you will be notified via WhatsApp or e-mail, which we will request the the rest of the 40% to be payed in order for the garment to be shipped to you.

Do I have to sign a contract before you make the garment?

Answer
In order for you to have trusted service delivery, the best costumer experience we do require you to sign an online agreement form when you order online even if you order via WhatsApp. The form is not tedious and long. It is simple to fill in and read through as it is written is simple English.

The purpose of this form is to protect you as the client and us as the service provider to be bound in fulfilling your order and sending it out to you to you can trust us and that we may also trust that you are serious about your order being made.
​
You have the option of printing out the form after signing it so that you can also have a copy if you would like to.
The form comes reflecting all your order details previously filled in and the Modest Raiment's details and with the rules of the garment making process and the fulfilling of the order, you are required to tick the agree and select the date in order for the agreement form to be considered valid and your order to go through.

We will not be requiring personal details such as bank account numbers, family members, occupation etc. in the form.

A validation of the details you have provided previous to your order request will be displayed in the agreement form for confirmation so that manufacturing process can begin after payment is made.

Question
What if my dress doesn't fit?

Answer
We do not offer exchanges or refunds as everything in Modest Raiment is a handmade to order item made to your own specific measurements or size.
​
However items can be returned for alterations if the fault was on our side free of charge.
​
But if the fault was on your side and you want to return the items and you did not take accurate measurements, to prevent this I have a section and video on this website on (link👉 how to take your own body measurements) or you chose the wrong size, you may return the item for alterations but note that you will be responsible for the shipping fees (shipping returns) and we will also charge you with an additional fee as that is a cost of time and material.

So please measure yourself accurately according to the instructions and choose your sizes correctly according to your measurements.
Question
When will I get the confirmation and the shipment email?

Answer
We send you a confirmation e-mail of the order after the agreement form has been ticked and the proof of payment has been received if it was done offline and you will receive a unique reference number for your order that will be the same as your invoice reference order number.
​
Or we will send you a confirmation e-mail after agreement form was ticked and the payment from your order is received and reflected to our account. You will then be e-mailed a confirmation e-mail of your order with a unique reference number for your order.
​
These unique reference numbers will be referred to your order when any communication is being conferred to you regarding your order.
​
Once item is completed and shipped to you then an e-mail with your tracking number and/or tracking link will be sent to you for your delivery notice.
​
If you live abroad, this will take 2-3 weeks after your order has been processed. If you live in South Africa this will take 3-5 business working days.
​
If you cannot spot the confirmation and the shipment email e-mail check your junk/spam mail inbox for both the e-mails, if you cannot spot them on your inbox, they may end up in your junk mail.
